SIGMOD 2016 Call For Workshop Proposals

We invite proposals for workshops to be collocated with the SIGMOD/PODS 2016 conference. Workshop duration can be between half a day and a full day, before or after the main conference (please see details below).

The organizers of accepted workshops are required to announce the workshop and call for papers, solicit submissions, conduct the reviewing process, and decide upon the final workshop program that must be published at least two weeks before the early registration deadline. In addition, each workshop must prepare its own proceedings. The publishing company is at the discretion of the workshop chairs, but all proceedings must be submitted for inclusion in the ACM Digital Library. Publication of calls for papers and participation as well as eventual workshop reports in SIGMOD Record are encouraged.

The logistics of the workshops will be handled by the SIGMOD 2016 organization. Specifically, the SIGMOD 2016 local organization chairs will work with workshop chairs individually to take care of facilities, catering, and registration for all workshops. To enable this, breaks will be coordinated.

Each workshop receives two free registrations, which are typically used for keynote or invited speakers; the recipients of the free registrations are at the discretion of the workshop chairs, who are requested to send the recipients' names and contact information to the SIGMOD 2016 local organization and registration chairs.

Submission Guidelines

Proposal evaluation criteria include the following: relevance to SIGMOD, scientific quality, perceived interest (e.g., previous submission counts), past performance (e.g., publication of the proceedings in the ACM DL), and overlap with other proposals. Workshop proposals and further inquiries should be sent to the SIGMOD 2016 Workshop co-chairs:

Important Dates

Complete workshop proposals must be received by Monday, August 10, 2015.

Notification of acceptance will occur by Monday, September 14, 2015.

Workshops will take place on Sunday, June 26, and (if needed) on Friday, July 1, with two taking place on Monday, June 27. The chairs will announce the exact date of each workshop at the time of the acceptance notification.
